Fishing for fish close to the mangrove trees in SW Florida can get a little tricky.  Especially when you hook into a Snook or Redfish.  This past week I hooked into a Snook about ten feet away from the mangrove shoreline.  After a few jumps he proceeded to pull me in the mangroves.  My fishing line got twisted around some branches as I was trying to keep a tight line on the fish.  I finally managed to free myself from the branches and pushed my way back to open water.  To my surprise the Snook was still on my line and I managed to get him to the kayak.

After a quick picture, I gave the fish some time to recover in the water by moving him back and forth.  Once I felt him trying to pull away from me I released him to be caught another day.
