Catching Seatrout on a topwater lure is my favorite way to catch them. It was a calm day out, very little wind, a perfect day to fish with topwater. I used a Super Spook Jr pearl color lure.
Beside catching my limit of trout that day, I also lost several trout bringing them to the kayak and had 5 or 6 “blowups”. Blowups are when a fish hits your surface plug but doesn’t get hooked. When a fish hits a topwater lure you need to wait a few seconds before setting the hook to make sure they have it in their mouth.
