There are two types of anglers, those that catch and release and those that like to eat their catch. In SW Florida gulf waters the most popular inshore species to catch and eat are Seatrout, Redfish and Snook, however there is a closed season on them for one year. So, if you want dinner what do you fish for? Flounder, whiting on the beach, small drum (big drum don’t taste very good), Pompano and Sheepshead in the winter.

Beware of going in the water if you have any open wounds. There is a flesh-eating bacteria in the gulf waters.
